Cheap Camera Test

Personal project - Cheap Camera test #1
How important is equipment?
As a creative, how much do you lean on the equipment you have bought over the years, could you do without it?

I wanted to see whether it was possible to create Commercial-level imagery on a budget. I picked up a (very!) used Nikon D300 with a 50mm f/1.8 on Facebook Marketplace for £100. Coupled with an old Godox RS600 portable strobe, my friend let me shoot his Honda Hornet 600 Cup in his crammed garage. I then downloaded a set of free backplates from Unsplash for the composite work.
Alternate idea for front shot:
As a test of equipment vs skill, this was a successful one. By controlling the environment and using your light to give you the advantage, even on old/cheap equipment it is possible to produce a high standard of work without letting the technical short-falls of the equipment get in the way.

Now to find something a bit bigger to test the equipment on...
