Motorsport and Performance
Exterior print project
Motorsport and Performance (MAP) are a Yorkshire-based tuning company that specialise in ECU mapping and tuning as well as high-power supercharged V8 builds. They also operate 'Rotary Revs' - a rotary engine specialist that build Mazda RX engines.
MAP wanted a selection of prints to represent their 'hero' cars; their signature builds. The first job was to measure the space where the prints would be going and where the windows would intersect the prints themselves.
The next job was then to look through our archive of vehicle shoots and work on a design which would work across the full set. Being primarily a Mustang specialist, we had lots to choose from!
In recent months, MAP have adapted their focus to work on supercars with their first custom tune of a McLaren following a new exhaust fit. Finally, we also needed something that would represent their heritage and where they came from - rotaries.
We settled on a monotone idea for the set; dark studio backdrop with a selection of black/grey and white cars. This would mean colour-changing some of the brighter vehicles!
The backdrop was created from scratch in photoshop to match the window dimensions. The tonal range was then made consistent across all the edits and the Mustang itself was flipped horizontally. This meant changing all the smaller details such as the badges too!
This was the first visualisation of how the prints would sit.
We decided to opt for a colour for the central car (McLaren 675LT) that would fit with the company branding. A range of reds were given as an option but in the end we went for the one that would most closely match the logo.
With another visualisation that the team were given the option to choose between.
Red was chosen unanimously and so the prints were ordered and fitted!
