This is the second prototype of a houseplant-shaped film speaker that utilizes the features of the piezoelectric film Picoleaf® developed by Murata Manufacturing Co., Ltd.

Murata Manufacturing Co., Ltd. has been developing electronic components such as sensors and actuators called Picoleaf® using piezoelectric film that has unparalleled features. Fushigi Design was commissioned by Murata Manufacturing to design and develop a prototype speaker in the shape of a houseplant, taking advantage of the transparency of this material.

Each leaf-shaped sheet of Picoleaf® plays music as if it were whispering. It will be exhibited in several facilities in Japan, including point0, a shared office in Marunouchi, in 2020.

株式会社村田製作所が開発した圧電フィルムPicoleaf®の特徴を生かした、観葉植物型フィルムスピーカーの2ndプロトタイプ。

村田製作所では他に類を見ない特徴を持つ圧電フィルムを使って、Picoleaf®というセンサやアクチュエータなどの電子部品を開発されています。ふしぎデザインは村田製作所からの依頼を受け、この材料の透明性を生かした観葉植物型スピーカーのプロトタイプのデザイン / 開発を行いました。

Picoleaf®による葉のような形のシート一枚一枚が、囁くように音楽を奏でます。最初に制作した1stプロトタイプから、強度、可搬性、メンテナンス性を向上させるために筐体設計を見直し、長期間の展示に耐えられるようにリファインしました。2020年に丸の内のシェアオフィスpoint0をはじめ、国内数カ所の施設にて展示されます。
