Endless Departure
Death is the beginning of a new life so called afterlife. Life is a journey as well as afterlife, with death as the point of displacement. The terminal itself acts as the first place humans will experience before they eventually go to heaven or hell. We strive therefore to create not an waiting place, but instead a journey that has no actual end. Apart from the that was carried out before, we believe that death is a celebration for having completed life. The arrival arranged in such way that it is divided according to their final destination. Humans who arrived at the platform to heaven could not reach the platform that led to hell and vice versa. Yet they can see each other and be treated with a same beautiful view and the same sense of peace. The waiting room are the journey to something that is endless, whether they arrived or not. It will be determined by themselves and judged by their previous life. The waiting room to heaven is a platform that leads upwards and the journey filled with endless pleasure and unending peace. The waiting room to hell is a platform that leads downwards and the journey filled with endless feeling of discomfort and tightness. The extrude shape itself is a imaginary light that comes down from the void on the heaven’s waiting room, yet solidified. So instead of illuminating the lower area, it makes a sense of discomfort throughout the journey with no end.
