German Cityscapes
Having worked for a company based in Germany, I have been fortunate to have had several opportunities to travel in the country over the years. This is a miscellaneous collection of some of the photos that I took while wandering the streets in early morning or evening. While the solid and relatively permanent structures were often the things that initially caught my eye and created the compositional scaffolding of the photos, I find that I am most drawn to those images which contain random and ephemeral elements: a bicyclist rolling by (or a lone bike waiting for its human to return), clouds catching the light, pedestrians mingling and passing, flocking birds seeking crumbs from the table of humanity, or a lone man protesting the ravages of capitalism on the poor.
