“The wheat’s life” 🍃
Almost a year ago, the Barilla Art Directors asked me to work, through images and words, on a short story that illustrates the path that leads wheat to become pasta.
My research focused on the 4 natural elements: earth, water, air and sun.
I studied the colors that best identify the 4 elements, always keeping the three colors of the brand constant, namely Red, Blue and the new Barilla blue. I then represented the natural elements with four portraits of women full of life, with sinuous lines and vigorous colors. I imagined that every woman had a message to give to the grain of wheat, evocative and simple words to encourage its journey.
Earth, water, air and sun become the protagonists of this story in which each element has taken on the name of the color that identifies them: The Green Woman, The Blue Woman, The Red Woman and The Celestial Woman.

“La vita del grano” 🍃
Quasi un anno fa gli Art directors di Barilla mi hanno chiesto di lavorare, tramite immagini e parole ad una breve storia che illustrasse il percorso che porta il grano a diventare pasta.
La mia ricerca si è focalizzata sui 4 elementi naturali: terra, acqua, aria e sole.
Ho studiato i colori che più identificano i 4 elementi mantenendo sempre costanti i tre colori del brand, ovvero Rosso, Blu e il nuovo azzurro Barilla. Ho quindi rappresentato gli elementi naturali con quattro ritratti di donne piene di vita, dalle linee sinuose e dai colori vigorosi. Ho immaginato che ogni donna avesse un messaggio da dare al chicco di grano, parole evocative e semplici per incoraggiarne il viaggio.
Terra, acqua, aria e sole diventano le protagoniste di questo racconto in cui ogni elemento ha assunto il nome del colore che le identifica: The Green Woman, The Blue Woman, The Red Woman e The Celestial Woman.
