Parenting Communication Companion

BRIEF
Design of a parenting communication companion for deaf or deaf-mute parents with hearing children during their early life, when they are still  learning sign language.
DESIGN GOAL
The parenting communication companion helps the parent
to express himself, to show his emotional situation and communicate with the child about deeper issues, despite the absence of verbal communication.
At the same time it increases the child's auditory stimuli.

IDEATION
FUNCTION
The companion recognizes the sign language, records it on the screen and then pronounces it in a specific tone. In this way, the parent can increase his child's auditory stimuli himself, without having to turn to external factors (television, radio, acquaintances).
A key factor in communication is the transfer of emotion exuded by the tone of voice. The companion achieves the transmission of emotion through special algorithms that scan the parent's face and the child's voice. They recognize their emotions and match them with predefined colors to the defined analog indication (for the parent) and the tone of the outgoing voice (for the child).
In addition, Companion has the ability to record voice,
which can be converted to written text.
