Almyra is a comfortable DIY lounge chair made of common objects found in sailboats. Furthermore, Almyra is made from easily accessible materials and entities, which everyone who wants the sailboat aesthetic in a make-your-own, furniture can get in hand. Almyra can be constructed by reusable materials like old ropes that are no longer ideal for sail purposes (physical wear).
The main feature of this lounge chair is the protective balloon of the sailboat. The balloon was incorporated into the chair design to offer both a playful and a smooth experience during the siting movement.
When the sailboats are on the move and not moored the protective balloons are actually useless so the main goal of this chair is to embrace the reusability of objects when they are not useful in their initial way.

The aesthetic of this lounge chair is inspired by the sea, from the white wood that can be found washed up on the shore to the use of everyday sailing objects, giving a modern twist to old materials.
The past year I was deeply inspired by Designer Enzo Mari who encouraged the idea that well-designed furniture should be open for everyone. In the same philosophy Almyra lounge chair was born as an idea in the middle of a sailing trip in Alonissos Greece offers an opportunity for everyone to enjoy a quality design piece with non-expensive materials.
Constractability
Almyra lounge chair is currently in progress, although i decide to publish the main idea of the constractability that it is based on three common objects. First a transport wood palette, a sailing rope and last a fender boat ballon. This kind of wood can be also bought or found in another source its up to you. The final stage of make this furniture works, its to constract this lounge chair and evaluate the design for possible design changes and eventually create the assembly manual. For now this behance project is only to showcase the idea and the philosophy behind this chair design.
