A craft I never thought I'd never get to explore, I learnt a variety of weaves using bamboo strips and decided to create a multipurpose basket that one could use as a picnic basket, closet storage, grocery bag, etc. 

The use of a complex version of 2 up-2 down weaving pattern and a strong combination of thick and thin strips of bamboo makes the basket sturdy and solid. The edges of the basket are rimmed with two thick strips of bamboo (inside and outside for strength).

The top half of the basket is crocheted and stitched on to the basket twice. 

The crochet part can also be pulled down over the surface of the basket and can provide an alternative look.
