This lounge chair is the product of a two week collaboration with an artisan in Malinalco, Mexico who works with different weaving technics applied to clothing, bags and different types of fabrics.
The design of the chair consists of two pine wood frames that are very rigid and a very organic weave that holds them together. The difference between the frames and the weave symbolize the collaboration between two very different designers that came together to create one product.
With this chair we wanted to explore with natural materials, so we decided to use izote -a natural fiber produced in the area- as thread to weave the back and sit of the chair. For the design of the back we chose a three dimensional type of weave to give support and for the seat we combined weaving with small pieces of wood to give structure.
