Pavilion 5.1 Simon Bolivar University

This Pavilion was the result of the combination of 4 different modular prototypes:
1- Structure (metal tubes)
2- Cover (PVC tubes)
3- Floor (PVC tubes and cement)
4- Panels (metal tubes and plastic)
The 25 student of the course were divided into these 4 groups to build the pavilion in one month.
I was part of a group of 5 students responsible for creating the concept and building the cover for the pavilion. Based on a false ceiling made by PVC tubes we developed a panel with the shape of two curves, one convex and another concave, to generate dynamism in the panel. To be able to assemble it the panel was divided into 9 smaller panels that were put together on site.
The curves are made out of three different PVC tubes (yellow, orange and white) which vary in thickness, length and angle.
1170 pieces of PVC tubes were necessary to build the panel.
