Video Rationale


I had a lot of fun creating the video for this content creation student project because it allowed me to be more innovative with social media apps like TikTok. By promoting Goustos products and their website, as well as explaining how easy it is to use their products, I established myself as an influencer. I mentioned that Gousto is targeted at people who don't have a lot of time to cook or aren't sure how to cook properly. This would draw a lot of interest because many students or people who are already busy would take the time to watch the video, resulting in increased interaction. If I were to upload this, I would use a variety of trending hashtags to increase the number of views on Tiktok, Instagram, and Facebook, to name a few social media sites where I can share the video as a main post and stories. I'd copy and paste the link into the caption so that it serves as a call to action My motivation for the design elements was that I wanted it to be straightforward but still informative and entertaining to watch. I used text to add main information to the video, such as the brand's name and the word "Quality" with a green tick emoji to prove it is up to par, I also used the word "simple" because people like things that are quick and easy to do, and I listed the website so that the audience knows what to look for. I even filmed a screen with a voiceover to show what the website has to offer, including noting that they get a 30% discount on their first order. Discounts are a good marketing strategy because they allow businesses to quickly attract new customers while still improving their bottom line. From here, I'm hoping that the video produced will be highly engaging and that viewers will take action in response to it, allowing Gousto to increase sales.  If it were on Goustos' landing page, it would be a more open post because it would still be available to be viewed. The aim of the cooking demonstration was to make people feel like they could participate in a situation where they had just been given something of value. People love watching cooking videos on social media, so this would make the video more enjoyable to watch and they will be able to appreciate the types of recipes Gousto provides. When it comes to influencers, many people would feel compelled to purchase a product or use a service if they see someone else recommending it highly.  The background song I used is a popular song that is used as a sound on tiktok, and it has a cheerful vibe to it, which can help to set a positive tone for the whole piece. Music has the power to provoke a wide spectrum of emotions and to elicit acts, so using an upbeat song that aligns with what Gousto stands for will help propel their message. (Dever, 2018)
