Assignment 2: Blogpost Rationale

Why I chose this topic?

For my blog, I completed my research and evaluated my target audience to be those who want a better lifestyle, such as individuals between the ages of 20-35 and families. 
It's important that we get the right nutrients, which is why I spoke about how eating at home leads to a longer life, which is the intent of my blog. Throughout the blog, I'm speaking about the advantages of eating at home as you can prepare healthy meals and maintain your calories running, something that a lot of people don't do. In addition, I discussed the advantages of making sure that children get the correct diet they need when it comes to family meals. 

Motivation for design elements

My motivation for the design elements that I used are linked to Gousto's brand colours that are red, purple and dark blue, so my front cover for the blog I also used those colours with the picture of a tasty meal because the blog is about eating so it will give people an image in their heads before they even read the blog.(merchanm, 2019). I used the title "Why eating at home leads to a longer fulfilling life" as I hope this will capture people's interest as they know it's going to be something informative and worth reading as it will appeal to anyone, no matter how old you are.

SEO
As a whole, I used light blue as the background colour because it makes the information font stand out more while also offering a bit of colour to the blog. I used particular terms in my blog, such as 'fulfilling' as a title, because that means making someone feel satisfied.  Blogs are linked as proprietary media, as most marketers will determine what kind of content, they want to publish that will attract buyers as they get value. The value that I wanted to achieve was to offer out the useful benefits of cooking home-cooked meals and examples of meals that are similar to Gousto's recipes, so that this way people would be able to search for Gusto and look at their recipes. 

Storytelling
The power of storytelling is crucial when it comes to marketing, so I wanted to tell stories that people can relate to such as the takeaway experience that the majority of people are guilty of ordering food so that by sharing this, they will relate to it. The diagram I've added to my blog summarises the key points so that it can refresh all the points I've already listed. This will make better sense to the readers, as there are pictures included as well. The last option talked about is a clear call to action point for readers by adding links to the Gouchos website and advising them on their healthy eating journey.
