About the concept
Television has a very strong visual appeal in any room it is placed. It becomes a part of the wall aesthetics. When off it takes a sizeable amount of real state and makes it black which stands out the most. This concept takes an alternate approach to television design, instead of minimizing the bezels it accepts it and mimics the photo frames, so even when off it seems to be containing the black within like a painting and diverts attention to the colored frame of it's body.
It takes heavy inspiration from the current trends in smartphone designs especially from OnePlus smartphones.
The design also scored a special mention on the OnePlus community.
This concept was designed as an entry for the OnePlus TV design competition held in Jan-Feb 2021. Although the design was found to be not eligible for entry, the OnePlus still gave it a special mention for which I am very grateful.
