UNASS Non-Profit Organization Branding

Ucwalmicw All Nations Services Society (UANSS) is non-profit charity organization
which helps urban Indigenous peoples in the Fraser Valley. Their goal is to build stronger inter- and intra-community relations through Indigenous traditional practices.
As a new business, the company held a contest where community members could submit their designs. I was grateful to not only win this contest with my design, but I was able to help them begin developing their branding. I utilized a circle to contain the whole design because it represents unity, and the bringing together of Indigenous peoples. The figures within the circle represent the different types of urban Indigenous peoples the company provides services for. The eagle signifies courage, wisdom and strength. The final brand mark mixes tradition with modern, just like the brand is trying to pass on many traditional practices of the First Nations still remembered by the elders onto the youth.
To promote their services to urban Indigenous, the non-profit organization required a brochure to hand out during community events and gatherings, cultural workshops, and a variety of assistance services to vulnerable elders and other Indigenous peoples'. It was important to communicate and incorporate photographs representing who they are and what they do, as well as information on how to contact the organization.
