Sud-Aviation Caravelle

Sud-Aviation SE.210 Caravelle
This is my latest CGI personal project, after several years spent with Concorde. With this one, we go back in time a little more: the Sud-Aviation Caravelle was the first airliner with rear-mounted engines, the second jetliner after the DeHavilland Comet.

Without the Caravelle, there would have been no Concorde maybe. Caravelle was a great airliner of the 60's (she first flew in 1955 and was first delivered in 1959) born from the ashes of the french aviation industry devastated by the WWII. The design and techniques developed for Caravelle paved the way to Concorde that first flew ten years later.

I wanted to depict this beauty the best way I can, while transiting to Blender software. Starting from scratch, after carefully analysing the documentation I was able to gather, I created the 3D model of a Caravelle Type III with its typical small cockpit windows and engine nacelles.

The artworks presented here are full CGI, with the 3D model and its PBR textures rendered in Blender Cycles. I used Terragen to generate the environment.

If you appreciate my work, make sure to "like". And if you really appreciate it and want a Limited Edition art print out of it, just contact me! ;)
