ATR stands for Avion de Transport Régional. ATR aircraft are small, short-haul aircraft. The ATR42 is the smallest of the two types, the ATR72 has around 70 seats. The ATR72-600 is the latest version. Powered by two Pratt & Whitney Canada turboprop engines, it's a best seller in its segment.
