Background

헤드폰을 사용하고 나면 거치 시 책상 위, 헤드폰 케이스 혹은 거치대에 보관하기 마련입니다. 이러할 경우 어쩔 수 없이 거치 공간을 차지하게 됩니다. Helix는 보관의 개념을 재해석하였습니다. 기존의 헤드폰들과 달리 거치, 보관 시 헤드폰을 방치하는 것이 아닌 하나의 조형물 겸 스피커로 활용하여 자신의 역할을 할 수 있도록 디자인되었습니다.

After using the headphones, you can store them on the desk, on the headphone case, or on the holder. In this case, you will be forced to take up the hangout space. Helix reinterpreted the concept of archiving. Unlike conventional headphones, it is designed to play its role by using them as a sculpture and speaker instead of leaving them unattended when they are mounted or stored.

Function

Helix 연질의 헤드밴드를 비틀면 자동으로 나선의 형태를 구축시킵니다. 형태가 고정되면 스피커 기능으로 변환됩니다.

When you twist the Helix soft headband, the spiral is automatically formed. When the shape is fixed, it is converted to speaker function.

Reference

기존의 헤드폰 형태에서 간단한 행위로 만들 수 있는 조형성을 생각하여, 나선형을 떠올렸습니다. 헤드폰의 헤드밴드가 나선의 조형물이 되게끔 레퍼런스를 참고하여 디자인하였습니다.

Thinking of the formability that can be easily made from the existing headphone shape, I thought of a spiral. We designed the headband of the headphones by referring to the reference so that it is a sculpture of the helix.
