The Tale of Two Cities

These two works was done for a school project. It is trying to show how two different places in the world have parts of each other thanks to the development of information networks and a shrinking world.

Top : Historical Venice with Hard Rock Cafe (an American product, even though it first started out in UK by 2 Americans). This is very straightforward, the establishment of international (and often standard) brands around the world like a Starbucks or McDonald's.

Bottom : New York's Division Street with a Venetian restaurant named Bacaro with a shutter painted with a scenery of Venice's Grand Canal and a taxi advertising the Venice Biennale with the iconic Venetian lion. There is a certain image of Venice in our minds which is the result of our access to the information about Venice.
