Islington Mill

I was lucky enough to spend some time at Islington Mill, an independent art organization in Salford, UK.
Situated inside a converted mill, the spaces host more than 50 businesses and 100 artists and they welcome every year more than 15,000 visitors. Thanks to the sense of collaboration and inclusivity by which Islington Mill is fulfilled I was able to interview the tenants of the structure and collect a lot of material that gave me the opportunity to design a book about this creative community. The first chapters of this editorial project provides information about the art organization and the values upon which the community is built. The middle sections focus on the artistic projects that have been realized trough the years, the residencies around the world and the collaborations. The last chapter is dedicated to all the studios that live inside the structure and how they represent this heterogeneous artistic community.
