“Even since 2002, we’ve been dealing with what is in our nature – food made by gourmets, for gourmets. Ever since we lit the first beads in our stove in a corner of Bucharest famous for its bon-vivant atmosphere, guests from all over have stepped on our doorstep.
Many years have passed since the Elena Buie restaurant was a small restaurant next to the Ion Mincu University. Although in 2015 we changed our name to Casa cu Nuci, our passion for culinary art remained constant. Our team of 18 chefs is ready to prepare a dream dinner for you at any time.”
For this project I was assigned to create a logo for the canteen of Ion Mincu University of Architecture and Urbanism in Bucharest, together with a flyer that also ended up as a poster.
The intention behind the design, as you can see below, was to integrate a fork and a spoon inside the letter K. The fonts I’ve used are: Petit Formal Script regular and Noto Sans bold. For the flyer/poster I chose a colorful palette, consisting of a selection of five colors.
The colors were used on geometric shapes that represent the architectural identity of the canteen building.
Two pictograms of food (pizza and icecream) were placed to get a fresh vibe, and the last touch was to add two pictures of the actual food that is being served at the canteen.
