HØLES

This is one of the first series of works that I started painting after graduation, for an exhibition named "Channeling" (2016). The paintings are representative for my style, mostly inspired from the street art culture, but also from organic patterns found in nature. While using a simple colour scheme and clean lines, my style can be described as being like a mesmerising puzzle, where you are invited to discover the pieces. This triptych called "høles" is centered around two portraits, each containing unique symbols inspired from different cultures; the middle painting focuses on the royal symbol "fleur-de-lys". The first portrait, on a dark background, hides a merkaba inside it; this jewish symbol represents pure divine energy, constantly spinning, harmonizing, balancing, flowing, moving and expanding in all four directions. The other portrait, on a white background, contains a lotus flower (Eastern religion symbol) as the main symbol that reflects upon purity, enlightenment, self-regeneration and rebirth.
