Logo Design

Assistive Technology Network
The original brief was open and I enjoyed working with my employers to produce the best design possible. Given that assistive technology benefits people with different disabilities, I was keen for the design to be inclusive as possible. The typeface choice was chosen specifically to be as clear as possible.
The icon part of the logo represents interconnectivity, to symbolise The Network. I was very happy with the design looking midly celtic; as I find celtic designs aesthetically pleasing.
A challenge I encountered was that the organisation's name consisted of three long words. This caused the composition difficult to look pleasing. Given that the organisation is new, it felt unwise to abbreviate the name at this time. After exploring these alternative ideas, we felt that the first composition was the best.
I was interested to see how an inverted icon would look. I felt maybe the design was looking too "light". However, we all agreed that this direction was not what was needed.
These designs explored improving the readability of the logo text. With highlighting the first letter, it allows for organic logo evolution towards acronym options.
Final design
I felt like the icon needed colour, and the solution we went with were the nodes being colourful. Due to the number and positioning of the nodes, I felt like a colourwheel effect would work well. The colours represent the diversity of the network, as well as the people who benefit from their work. I enjoy the contrast in linewidth between the text and the icon.
