Gus Morais was commissioned to draw a seek-and-find illustration for AARP, the largest nonprofit, nonpartisan organization in the USA dedicated to empowering Americans 50 and older to choose how they live as they age. The illustration was published in their official blog and brings a funny approach
to their new article: "Everyone I Know Is a Grandmother Except Me".

The article, written by Sharon Greenthal, describes the expectations of an aging mother of 2 adult sons that sees all of her friends becoming grandmothers and grandfathers. The problem is: she loves kids too, but none of her sons is ready to have a kid soon.

"This happened quickly. Within the past five years or so, everyone had babies. Some had two. They are still having them. There are showers and pictures and videos and gifts (I love buying baby gifts!)"

Me and art director Todd Albertson discussed many ideas to make this illustration very detailed and funny, approaching this theme in a soft and respectful way. Here are some of the favorite ideas and situations I've drawn:

We've decided to depict lots of styles of grandmas, like in real life, with their different
