The problem my group and I were trying to solve was boredom. In today’s world where everyone is locked inside going out to dinner has become a thing of the past. People are more bored than ever nowadays, with restaurants being takeout only, and concerts and shows being canceled, people need a new form of entertainment. Our solution was Knights! We wanted to create a way for people to have a fun dinner experience without compromising safety. We thought what if we could bring a renaissance fair to the customer. We wanted to create an immersive experience, a dinner and a show taken to the next level! Our goal is to make people feel as if they’ve been teleported back in time to a land of kings, queens and magic; to a realm of endless possibilities, where everyone feels like royalty. Renaissance Fairs are inherently a social event, and we had to figure out how to create that festival experience while also making sure our service was socially distant. At first we had a normal delivery service, then a buffet style service, then a food truck based service, before combing all of our ideas into a Brazilian steakhouse style dinner. At a Brazilian steakhouse waiters (gauchos) come table to table each with a different cut of meat and serve the customers. The waiters know who to serve due to a card the customer has that signifies if they are hungry or not. We took this system and made it digital, allowing our customers to have as much food as they want during each course, and it keeps people from having to interact with each other.

For my version of our groups project is Fire Grill, I designed mine to seem more like a story book, Its very illustration heavy, I wanted to make every part of the company seem fun and exiting, my goal was to make ordering food and fun and exciting task one that felt like a game and less like a chore.
As a group we came up with a few different deliverables that our company could have and give out, we have three sauces, 3 drinks and a take out box for leftovers. I designed all of these things to have a fun whimsical feel to them, I focused on using illustration to make this possible, and used old paper textures to make the bottles seem older and worn out.
Our Group also decided to create a set of cloths that our servers and workers could wear. I went with a very simplistic route for the clothing, I wanted to have a simple a comfortable uniforms that servers could wear for hours throughout the day. Its rough for a guest to be served by someone who seems uncomfortable, it makes them feel awkward and no one likes that.
This is a mobile ordering app designed to keep customers and staff away from each other as much as possible. Once customers sign up for their event they are emailed an activation code that allows them to sign into the ordering app once there event begins. To order food you just click on the meal you want and flip your digital card to green and a waiter will come bringing the desired meal that you want. The app also allows you to order drinks or specialty cocktails to your table.
