Earth is Guetto? A catchphrase immortalized
LA-based dancer and artist Dorón Israel got in touch with us to create a personalized illustration to personify his and his friends’ catchphrase “Earth is ghetto?”. We were given complete creative license to interpret this phrase how we saw fit and portray it in our characteristic style.
We immediately knew that we wanted to represent the meaning of this phrase in an unambiguous and visually impactful way. The hands that surround the globe depict the repression of the societies that live in ghettos and serve as the poles of the power lines, over which branded sneakers have been thrown. This nod to street culture perfectly encapsulates the essence of the phrase.
