The National Centre for Universities and Business (NCUB) promotes collaboration between universities and businesses within the UK. NCUB is about harnessing the natural developing talent and groundbreaking research strength within universities for the benefit of the UK economy.
 
For their branding NCUB required a simple and ownable graphic image that represented the coming together of these different people. The letters N,C,U,B were creating in a simple graphic style and overlayed to represent the joining of the univiersities and businesses. Each of the colours for the letters was chosen specifically so that their overlapping areas created one bold colour. This bold colour became known as "NCUB Purple" and and progressed to form the main identity of the brand.
 
The main logo consists of a lockup of the bold symbol, coupled with the brand name. The colours and uniqueness of the icon mean that it can be used across various media for branding purposes.
 
The NCUB website features the branding heavily and integrates video and infographics to create an engaging and exciting environment.
 
Useful items such as USB sticks, notepads and smartphone cases were all given the NCUB branding in order to encourage the professional collaboration between universities and businesses.
