由蘇格登首席調酒師Maureen Robinson親自挑選的兩桶原酒,分別為一桶雪莉桶原酒以及一桶由波本桶重組的「豬頭桶」(hogshead)原酒。調配出的蘇格登38年香氣表現上並沒有木桶味過重的情況出現,且豐富的蘋果、梨子,並帶著一點梅干的香氣,清新淡雅、顛覆一般消費者對於老酒的印象。在口感上,有著與淡雅香氣截然不同的對比,奔放的甜味在口中散發久久不能散去,且帶點些許的泥煤味,宛如秋季摘採水果、手沾泥土時的豐收歡愉。
