Cairo Jazz Festival 2020

Visual identity design for the 12th edition of Cairo Jazz Festival, 2020. The inspiration for the layout came from an overhead shot of a drummer in session. Accordingly I dedicated this year's visuals to the colorful sounds of percussive instruments and their contribution to jazz and fusion. The main poster was initially hand-drawn using pencils and fine-liners, and then painted digitally on Adobe Photoshop, where the animated sequences were also created to promote for the festival on digital platforms.

I tend to sketch the my initial concepts for layouts at relatively small scales. Above is the original sketch that was later refined & painted digitally.
A4 poster that opens up to become 3 pages that hold the festival's 1-week schedule.

Stage design: the background had a rotation of images, inspired by the main artwork, and displayed on a large screen behind the various acts.
