This is a short movie I designed for an Erasmus project for which I was asked to craft some animated storytelling about anything I wanted, without any pretedermined subject, structure or style. Being information integrity one of the subjects that intrigues me the most, I decided to handle a metaphoric short movie about the amount of lies that can be sold as truth, just through the use of impressive graphics and pseudoscientific speech patterns.

The results is a fake educational video aiming to prove that information privacy is useless, dangerous and undesirable and that constant supervision is legitimate and essential for a safe society. In our contemporary times, apparently it just takes a catchy jingle and a few green wireframe 3D models to expose and discredit some literary or political milestones such as George Orwell and Edward Snowden. Visual communication can be much more manipulative than written or spoken languages, as it's extremely easy to address uninformed targets with fake campaigns that show them the same stuff they can see on Discovery Channel, so can be taken as seriously as Discovery Channel.
Technically, not all of what is shown in the video is incorrect. Most of the data are just decontextualized or incomplete, such as a comparison between the bankruptcy of Blockbuster and the increase of the Bitcoin value. These things happened for real, but the speaker claims that this is an evidence for the fact that mass survaillance doesn't exist, as Bitcoin transactions are anonymous and they are widely authorized by our governments, while highly profiling companies such as Blockbuster failed because of their profiling policies.

The video is supposed to make you laugh only if you're very attentive to detail, so pay attention till the end and enjoy!
