BCN #2 - Compartir es vivir
This project analyzes from a photographic point of view the creation of a "home" in a shared apartment. It arises from my interest in social photography and my personal expertise in sharing flats. Starting point and theoretical basis of the project are anthropological studies on the creation of a home. The common meaning of home, which it considers as a totally private space and shared only with the family, now happens in a public space. An experience that forces you to share your intimacy and at the same time to seek and create a space that is your home, where you feel at home independently of the people around you.

It reflects on the need to create a personal space through materiality, establishing the notion of home from a material and local perspective. Exhibit this reflection through a series of environmental portraits depicting each tenant in their own world and personal and private space. Each portrait is combined with a small text written by the subject that allows us to understand the experience of creating "home" from its own perspective. The text is placed next to the portrait, in a diptych format, creating a self-explanatory double page of the person, which allows the photographer to present and tell part of the story of the portrayed character. Through this series of environmental portraits is illustrated as in a space of no place, where neither singular identity nor relationship is created but loneliness and similarity, tenants singularize the space itself expressing their personality and thus creating their home.
