The word 'Playtime' conjures up thoughts of childhood, freedom, exploration and fun! I needed to express those elements in a way that would appeal to students looking to party in Stellenbosch... 

The Logo is inspired by classic graffiti from the 90's - simple, bold, and playful. This then became the tone I wanted to have running through all elements of my poster design. The colours helped to reinforce this simplicity (basic CMYK) and are also a classic colour palette in the Electro scene at the moment. The graphic elements of the poster are also bold and simple and almost child-like. The subject matter of the visuals are inspired by the headlining act at each event. ( Sedge Warbler are a Glitch / Thug Rap duo that rap about 'bitches' a lot while Jam Jarr and Niskerone's sets are known to appeal to all the weed smokers ) I thought this subtle reference to these 'up 'n coming' acts would hopefully appeal to the students 'in the know' while the striking imagery would create hype around the various campuses. It was great  to hear that of the 40 posters put up in and around the Residents, almost all of them were stolen by students with in the first few days.
