"The New Yorker" Magazine Cover

I was tasked to create a possible magazine cover for “The New Yorker” magazine. The cover needed to be something current and a design that fit into the purview of a typical “New Yorker” magazine cover.
At the time Mayor Bloomberg’s bike lane initiative was in full swing. There was outcry by the motorists of our city because they felt he was “stealing the streets” from drivers. I thought it would be humorous to imagine an out of control Mayor’s expansion out of NYC and into the game of Monopoly.
The illustration was conceived on paper, but was created within Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
Printed final
