미장을 할 때 사용되는 수공구인 흙손을 미학적으로 바라보는 관점을 통하여 흙손 고유의 소재와 조형미를 전달하고자 한다.
흙손은 특별한 장식적 요소 없이 미장을 위한 금속 판과 손잡이 역할의 목재로 구성되어 있다. 이러한 소재의 사용과 간결한 조형요소에서 심미적 아름다움을 발견하였다. 이에 중점을 두어 흙손을 재해석 하였고, 특히 모서리를 미장하는 용도의 직각으로 이루어진 금속 판의 조형적 확장성에 집중하였다. ‘Trowel series’ 를 통해 흙손의 기능적 가치를 재발견하고, 기성 사물에 대한 관점의 반전과 함께 새로운 미학적 가치를 제안하고자 한다.
Through the aesthetic perspective of the trowel, which is a hand tool used to plastering, we want to convey the characteristic materials and beauty of the trowel. The trowel consists of metal plates for plastering and wood for the role of handles without any special decorative elements. The aesthetic beauty was found in the use of these materials and simple elements. Focusing on these elements, the trowel was reinterpreted. Especially focused on the expandability of metal plates made up of right angles for the use of plastering edges. Through 'Trowel series', we are going to rediscover the functional value of the trowel and suggest a new aesthetic value along with a reversal of the perspective on the ready-made object.
