"stop the urbanity: the marriage of architecture and typography" is a self-edited blend of two articles. Virginia Smith's 2006 article for AIGA, "Architecture and Type: A Modern Marriage" explores the relationship between typography and the environment around us. Mariko Sugita's "Urban typography: a glimpse into a world of local typefaces in Japanese cities, and their survival", recently published in 2019 on World Architecture's website exhibits the NORAMOJI Project and their study of vintage typefaces in urban Japan.

Together, these articles bring a deeper perspective into the relationship between human emotions and the urban environment in which we reside. Images are from the original two articles, and the text was edited together by myself (Barrett Lo).
