The Kroc Shield brand theme was created in response to the Covid-19 pandemic of 2020 as a way to highlight the precautions and safety measures being taken by the Salvation Army Omaha Kroc Center to protect its members, guests and employees. 

In Omaha, the Kroc Center was one of the first businesses to take a conservative stance on protecting its members, guests and employees: donning masks, developing a check-in process complete with temperature taking, maintaining a strict cleaning regiment, thoughtfully considering socially distanced spaces and equipment and considering ways to protect our members and guests. As we were able to reopen, strict adherence was followed to state and local mandates.

I assisted the Strategic Communications Manager in moving the brand through publications, re-opening messaging, internal signage and traffic flow pieces. I also helped compile brand files, guidelines and templates to be distributed to the other Kroc Centers in the Salvation Army's United States Central Territory.

Since information about Covid-19 and its effects on the Kroc Center was ever evolving and changing, we created an alert page (see below) for website visitors to use for the most current information on reopening phases, rules and operational facts.
