TRACE mobility research
TRACE is an ultra compact mobility solution for the future, designed to ease traffic in cities and revolutionize intercity travel. It combines comfort and privacy of the automobile with the advantages of short- and long-range public transportation.
Concept
TRACE is inspired by mobility concepts from past and future. The main argument for using a service like TRACE is the time saved in comparison to todays traffic consisting of both public and private transportation. TRACE is supposed to be a seamless mobility service with next to no waiting time.
Sketch
The design of the main vehicle is based on extremely compact size and packaging which makes it the same size as a Smart. 1.5 seats will be enough for most use cases in the city, e.g. going to work, shopping, or a parent with a child. The vehicle can also be used as a transport box.
For inter city transport the passenger cabin can be detached from the autonomous drive underneath, it will then be seamlessly integrated into a highspeed overhead railway that reaches speeds of up to 3ookph.
Modelling
Both the vehicle and the highspeed railway station were modeled in 3D.
Rendering
For the final presentation, the car and station were rendered in an urban city environment.
