For this project we were assigned to redesign an existing interface. I decided to redesign a TV remote with the goal to increase legibility and make it easier for the user to navigate. I used Adobe Dimension and Illustrator to focus on creating a three-dimensional mockup. I wanted to create a remote that limited the amount of buttons the user sees only down to the essentials.
The interface is multi-sided so the buttons the user sees is only related to the task they wish to accomplish. In my redesign, I decided to make the TV remote a bluetooth device in order to eliminate the remote sensor and create more space for the interface buttons. A charging dock is also included with the device to power the remote wirelessly. The main buttons for navigation are the control pad, the power/source panel, the play/pause panel, volume, and the channel buttons.
