Pieces

In my final project in my Visual Communication design degree at HIT, I chose to deal with my family story regarding Alzheimer's disease.

Alzheimer's disease changes the person completely. The various behaviors that appear as a result of the symptoms of the disease cause helplessness and distance within the other family members, especially with the lack of tools to deal with the condition. It is the patient who begins to forget things, but family members are the ones who bear the burden of this disease.

Pieces is an interactive story told from the point of view of a granddaughter to an Alzheimer's patient. Each chapter of the story deals with a different symptom of the disease. By moving from one chapter to another and facing a different interaction in each of the chapters, the users will gain tools for dealing with different symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease.
