Designed this poster for the Hindi Literary Society's Annual Fest: Vividha 2008
One of the major challenges in this project was to create an aesthetic for the vernacular. The graphics would also have to negotiate the balance between the computer brush and the earthy almost craftsy evocation this project demanded.
till the year before, the Hindi Literary Society published 2 different posters (in Hindi and English) to communicate the fest; I had myself designed the 2 posters the year before, in 2006. But with this design, in 2008, I achieved a single unified message of co-existence of the vernacular and the first language.

The colours were selected to emphasize the name of the fest and the graphics were hand-drawn on the computer to achieve a craft-like imperfection.
The event names are blended into the graphics, significant (as far as practicable with the economy of forms) in motifs and 'decorations'
