Together we will resist. The idea of the project is concentrated on the literally center of the building. This is a dynamic space for creating community life. The central core is emphasized by using traditional materials and colours that will bound human beings to their roots. Inhabitants need to feel connected to their surrounding, which during peaceful times and as well as during demanding emergencies will ensure physical comfort and mental support. That is why our Emergency Center will be a permanent structure with convertible courtyard. This center of the building will be the intimate core of the cultural roots. This flexible open space courtyard will provide local meetings, dances, activities and education that are common to the African social characteristics. This place will be associated with the sense of security and the feeling of the strength of community, that will help them resist every critical situation. This central space of Emergency Operation Center will be surrounded by wooden framework with pinned up traditional local colorful materials. This symbolic colors will support mental health during emergency, when the courtyard will be converted into treatment and protection space. After surviving the crisis, Unicy center will be again the place of joy and a timeless symbol of solidarity.
