Illustrations of some of the tourist emblems of Getxo. Designed for risographic reproduction in two inks.
An idea that arose as a personal work in the lockdown and that little by little has been taking shape until becoming a proposal to make a series of illustrations with the biggest tourist attractions of Getxo, the town where I live, and transform them into excellent quality sheets printed in risography and other series of merchandising objects such as postcards, notebooks, mugs, tote bags, etc.

In the end I decided to produce the illustrations myself and put them up for sale. And this is the result. They have been good right?
The credit for the impression goes to Another Press the masters of risography in Bilbao. And you will ask yourself, what about the Risowhat? Well, I'll tell you:
Risography is a high speed digital printing system manufactured by Riso Kagaku Corporation and launched in Japan in August 1986.
In recent years, risography has attracted the attention of printers and artists, especially in independent circuits and related to desktop publishing, given the technical and plastic qualities it offers. The spot colors of very diverse vivid colors, the warmth in the finishes, certain imperfections in the uniformity and the register that give a special touch, as well as quite affordable prices, are some of them.
To all this we must add that Riso equipment is the most ecological that exists in the market. The ink they use and that provides that interesting texture, is formulated from vegetable oils (soy in most cases, although there are some models in which the oil extracted from rice bran is used), which makes it a lot more environmentally friendly than toner and classic petroleum-based inkjet and offset inks; they are also not toxic.
