AMOREBIETA SCHOOL OF MUSIC
The Amorebieta School of Music opens in a new building, designed with exquisite care. In its architecture, the use of noble materials stands out, specially wood, which covers a large part of the interior of the school with a slatted design. This design is what has served as inspiration to create functional and uncomplicated signage.
Once the construction of the Music School building is finished, the Amorebieta City Council plans to provide it with signage that respects the exquisite design and that accompanies it. All this with the essential requirement of complying with accessibility standards.
For this, the City Council gets in touch with a couple of expert companies in the design of signage systems, among them la.vita. estudio. After a small selection process, our proposal is chosen because it is the one that best suits the needs expressed by the Amorebieta City Council.
la.vita. estudio together with the labeling company Rotustand have created a very simple signage system that meets the stated objective, both in terms of design and accessibility. The system, designed without complications and with the same materials that are repeated throughout the interior, accompanies the architecture of the building and integrates perfectly into it. The signage created strictly and discreetly fulfills its function, as it should be.
Directory
In addition to the signage of each room, it is necessary to create a Directory that helps people who access the building to move around the different floors, classrooms, etc.

The solution is a free-standing Totem that can be moved and placed in different positions as required. The piece is inspired again by the slatted aesthetic of the wooden decoration inside the building.
Plates
The plates that mark each room are placed on oak wood slats. The width of the plates is less than that of the slats, so that when the plate indicates something to its right, it is placed on the right side of the strip and vice versa.

Vinyls
All the windows in the building, both exterior and interior, have been vinylized with a very simple design that recreates sound waves. This fulfills a double objective: to decorate and to make the building comply scrupulously with the accessibility standards in the signage.
