Kraken Jumper: Upcycling old jumpers using scrap fabrics and doodles: The design was created from a drawing a friend gave me, I inturn created this image on fabric. This project was about giving new life to an old jumper (sweater). This one isnt for sale but I do make a range of christmas jumpers which are for sale! contact me for more!
The Kraken jumper being worn by myself!
Desgin for my kelpie jumper for the grand canal dock festival where I was running the art workshops!
Kelpie: Inspired from old celtic legends I wanted to create and wear something special for the workshops I was running for the Grand Canal Dock festival in May 2013. I used bits and beads collected from old tops/necklaces, when I'm sewing or crafting I try and add small details that help animate the creatures. But the key is to have fun as you create! And let your imagination flow!!
Myself modelling my creation on my way to work!
Decorate a Duck: This workshop was aimed at getting families to personalise their duck that they bought for charity. This is a duck I created for the workshops to help inspire the visiting young people.
Kelpie or Cata puppet: A workshop created for the Grand Canal Dock festival in May 2012.
Salmon of  Knowledge- Made for a weekend workshop with Waterways Ireland: Upcycling office envelopes using mixed paper that has been cut into scale like shapes, coloured crepe paper cut into strips. Inspired from the koi fish kites. Families attending the workshops were asked to write a message or a quote they liked to be placed inside the envelope, seal it then create the fish.
Salmon of Knowledge window art: Inspired from the japanese koi fish kites. Trying to give the Salmon of Knowledge a revamp!
Salmon of Knowledge 3: Upcycling old plastic sheets, placing hand written inspirational quotes inside of it. Young people taking part of the workshop were encouraged to write postive messages to their best friends/moms/dads/family members, so they could put it in  their windows.
Under the Sea Paper Plate Carousel: Using recycled materials and some office supplies this craft is movable and spins when held at the top. The young people were asked to pick 3-5 sea animals/creatures and using crayons/colouring pencils colour their creations.
3D Kelpie/Cata Mask:Two samples were created to give the children an idea of what we would be creating. Try and ask kids to picture what sort of animal they would like to create, and to pick out the details that they like about that animal. like if its a wolf the long snout and sharp teeth, or the way the fur is. Contact me for more information about how to create the 3D effect.
3D Bird Mask: Same as above but showing the difference of choosing different animals.
