At a young age, children have had social roles and cultural views implied to them through media entertainment, such as Disney movies. The expectation is that children will emulate the characters shown to them as their eveyday role model. Little girls have grown up watching Disney princess movies that depict the notion of marriage and dependence being the single way to obtain happiness and have a placement in society. In contrast, independence is often a negative characteristic in females as portrayed by villianesses. Enchanté is a storybook that addresses this implementation through story telling by forming a bridge between the heroine and villianess.
