One of our projects in semester 2013-1, was to illustrate some extracts of the book by Italo Calvino, "Las Ciudades Invisibles" (The invisibles Cities). The requirement was to at least make 40% of the illustration, digitally.

 

The technique I used was to draw the cities on paper with some pencil brushes and then scan and add the coloring with Corel Painter and Photoshop CS6.

 

For the book cover I played with textures, both from the background and the typography.
