Project Brief: Design a poster and campaign elements, such as bus decals and T-shirts, for a fictional upcoming surf event in NYC for surf and snowboard apparel retailer Quiksilver. Completed at Parsons summer intensive course in Illustration.
Using Oil Pastels on top of a Gesso Layer, I created illustrations of classical surf symbols: a wave and a surf board. The Gesso layer adds a splash texture, giving life to the monstrous wave looming in the background. The combination of Jamaican flag colors and high energy of the surfing images create a relaxed yet adventurous feel that embody the Quiksilver brand and its customer base.
