Project: CGV Calendar 2019
Every year, CGV Indonesia produces merchandises in form of desk calendar to be given to our partners and to be sold in various sites.
For the 2019 Calendar, the concept was minimalist illustration based on the movies screening on that month. I took part in designing and making the illustration for some of the pages.
In case you didn't figure it out yet, here's the name of the movies:
January 2019 - How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World
I drew an illustration of Toothless, the Night Fury dragon belonging to the main character Hiccup. However, instead of making it very obvious from frontal shot, I decided to draw him from the side, and adding his tail which is very iconic and distinguishable from other dragon characters.
February 2019 - The Lego Movie 2
The idea for this one is very simple: Lego pieces. Two Lego pieces to symbolize the number 2 (the sequel) and also the "rec" part refers to a movie.
August 2019 - Dora and the Lost City of Gold
Dora is well-known with her short hair, her pink shirt, and purple backpack, so I drew an illustration based on those iconic features. I decided to draw her from the back, for mystery purpose and to show that she's heading somewhere for a journey
October 2019 - Joker
Another iconic character: The Joker from DC Comics. One of his most distinguishable feature is the "smile", which was what I drew in the illustration. The Joker also has green hair, so I choose a shade of green for the background. Neon green specifically - because he's a quirky character.
November 2019 - Frozen 2
A homage to Elsa and her ice powers, I drew this illustration with snowflakes, glitters, and a little bit of magic.
