Metamorphosis Clouds

Metamorphosis of clouds
Magic is an attitude, which instead of taking images to orient oneself in the world, takes the world to orient oneself in the image. (Flusser 2000: 9)
Clouds are threatened with extinction. They play an important role in climate change. I am fascinated by clouds because they have a romantic, dreamy appearance but can be very terrifying and threatening. Clouds are unassignable, indefinite, don't have a specified location, are constantly changing, and not tactile. In the Netherlands we call them Dutch Mountains probably because of the lack of real ones. They therefore play an indisputable role in Dutch art; in that, I follow an age-old tradition.

The aim of the project is to research if there is more to the images than the eye meets and at the same time focusing attention on the clouds. That way contributing to the conversation on climate change.

This series is one of the experiments where I play with the metamorphosis of the clouds and lenticular prints. The videos show the result of the lenticular prints. Each print is a combination of 18 images with a metamorphosis from one image to another. The images represent a stage.
