The female figure is the main focus of my works. As opposed to the rigidity and lesser qualities of the male figure, the female has harmony, beauty, and an attractive force more powerful than gravity or religious piety. Its power is tantamount to the life force that drives all life and nature on this Earth. Just like many artists before me, I worship the female figure and contemplate the divine invention that it is in all of the Universe's existence. The beauty of the female human figure is proof that our Universe is beautiful, complex, harmonious, and magical.

My artistic and creative process in depicting the female form is ironical in that it is akin to plastic surgery, even though I am seeking a harmonious and natural appearance. The stress and pressure to create something beautiful and to challenge and fight against common notions about beauty result in this ironical process as I struggle with the paint, rejecting what I deem as the ugly and unnatural.

The focus of my lyrical portraiture is the oriental in particular. I am unfamiliar with the African or Hispanic, and trying to fight against the dominant narrative and imagery of the Western. On the other hand, the subjects of my "derivative" style drawings and paintings feel particularly western for reasons I cannot explain.
